Designated conservation areas, character appraisals, management plans and maps

You can find an interactive map showing all of our conservation areas here.

In addition to the initial designation, as a local authority, we also have a duty to assess the special interest, character and appearance of all conservation areas.  We must consider any additions or changes to their boundaries, and present proposals for their enhancement and management.

Below is a list of conservation areas with adopted appraisals. Click on the conservation area to download its appraisal.

The following is not an appraisal but concerns a legal agreement in Nuneham Courtenay with respect to its historic conservation.

The following conservation areas are designated but do not yet have a formal appraisal. With or without an appraisal, conservation areas all benefit from the same level of protection. Click the links below to see maps of the conservation areas.
