Cabinet Members and Chair confirmed at South Oxfordshire District Council – May 2025

Councillor David Rouane, Leader of South Oxfordshire District Council has this week (Thursday 15 May) announced details of the council’s new cabinet.

Cllr Tony Worgan joins the Cabinet as the member responsible for Economic Development and Regeneration. He has previously served on several of the council’s committees, including Scrutiny, Joint Audit and Governance and Planning.

Cllr Leigh Rawlins returns as Cabinet Member for Corporate Services having previously had Cabinet roles as the member responsible for Planning and Finance. Alongside Corporate Services, Cllr Rawlins will be responsible for most of the Policy and Programmes service area, with Planning Policy remaining with Cllr Anne-Marie Simpson.

The appointments were confirmed at the council’s annual meeting on Thursday 15 May.  At the meeting councillor members also elected Cllr Katharine Keats-Rohan as Chair of the Council for the year, taking over from Cllr Kellie Hinton.  Cllr Andrea Powell was appointed as Vice Chair.  Cllr Keats-Rohan has selected Sue Ryder Palliative Care Hub South Oxfordshire and Wigod Way Wallingford Family Centre as the two Chair’s charities which will benefit from fundraising efforts over the coming year.

During the meeting, Cllr Rouane also delivered his latest Leader’s report to council.

Cllr David Rouane, Leader of South Oxfordshire District Council, said: “As we work towards delivering Local Government Reorganisation that will provide the best outcomes for our communities, this Cabinet will bring significant experience to help us continue to focus on priorities like getting our innovative Joint Local Plan adopted, and delivering more council-owned social housing.”
