Small business rate relief is split into two elements and is only available for properties that are occupied.
The first is for businesses that occupy properties with a rateable value of under £51,000 since April 2017. If this is you, you will have a bill for your property calculated using the lower small business non-domestic rating multiplier, rather than the ordinary non-domestic rating multiplier that is used to calculate the liability of other businesses.
The second element is for businesses that will not pay any business rates on properties with rateable values of up to £12,000 since April 2017.
To find out if you qualify for the small business rate relief, please read our guidance notes.
