Using Council Land
Holding events on council land
If you are planning on holding an event on council land, please contact the Strategic Property team in the first instance with detailed plans of what you would like to do at least 3 months before the event date.
We will need you to complete our Events Licence, for which there will be a fee. View information on fees and charges.
In addition, we require proof of public liability insurance up to a minimum of £10 million before the event.
Risk assessments and a method statement (RAMS) will also need to be prepared to ensure the health and safety of the event.
Use of car parks
If you would like to use any Council car parks beyond normal use please contact the Strategic Property team in the first instance with detailed plans of what you would like to do.
Any use of car parking bays beyond normal use as pay and display will need to be licenced and will incur a fixed fee based on numbers of bays and length of time which will be payable as a lump sum.
We will require proof of public liability insurance up to a minimum of £10 million before the event.

Tree planting
If you would like to plant a tree on council land, please contact the Climate Action team in the first instance climateaction@southandvale.gov.uk.
