Wallingford Neighbourhood Plan

Wallingford Town Council is working on a neighbourhood plan. The process empowers local communities to help direct and shape the way their area grows and develops into the future. A neighbourhood plan will form part of the development plan, which helps to determine planning applications.

What’s happening now?

Wallingford Neighbourhood Area was formally designated on 1 May 2015.

The town council recently ran the statutory pre-submission consultation on the draft plan, which ended on 20 October 2019 The local community and statutory consultees were invited to offer their comments on the draft neighbourhood plan. The town council are reviewing comments received and making changes to the draft plan before formally submitting it to the district council.

Once the plan has been submitted, the district council will organise a further six-week publicity period, inviting comments from the public and statutory consultees.  All documents and comments received are then submitted for independent examination.
