Community Grants for 2025/26

We are pleased to announce our Grant scheme programme for 2025/26.

Fund for nature recovery projects – now open
Do you have a project that could increase biodiversity and encourage public access to green spaces in the district. We have a fund of £50,000 to support community nature recovery projects.
Councillor Community Grant Scheme – closed
Is your organisation looking for funding for a small capital project, or a one-off revenue project? Each South Oxfordshire district councillor has £7,500 to award to projects and activities that offer community benefits in their ward area, budget permitting.
Food and Warmth Grant Scheme – closed
Are you an organisation based in the district or directly delivering food and energy support or local initiatives in South Oxfordshire to reduce the cost-of-living pressures and build household resilience this winter?
Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) Grant Fund – opening January 2026
South Oxfordshire District Council collects CIL funding from liable housing developments to provide infrastructure required to support the growth of the district. Through this grant scheme, we’re helping local organisations to access funding to deliver infrastructure for their community required as a direct result from local growth.
Performing Arts Grant Fund – closed
Do you have a project that could enhance community wellbeing, foster mental, emotional and physical well-being through accessible performing arts initiatives that bring people together, or provide opportunities for diverse groups to participate in and access the performing arts, ensuring inclusivity across all demographics, including marginalised or underrepresented communities. There is a fund of £60,000 available in 2025/26.
Capital Grant Scheme – closed
Are you a voluntary or community organisation looking for funding towards capital projects that help to build thriving communities and improve the quality of life for the residents in the district?
If so, we are keen to fund projects that; improve economic and community well-being, provide infrastructure that meets local need, that protect and restore our natural world; and take action on the climate emergency.
Everyone Active Grant Scheme – closed
Do you have a project that could improve the health and wellbeing of our residents or provide high-quality active opportunities in one of our communities? We have a budget of £50,000 available annually for our voluntary sector who support communities to become more active and sustain activities.

- Business rates relief – how to apply for a reduction in your business rates
- Energy saving grants – helping you make your home more energy-efficient
- Home improvement loans – support for changes to your home
- Berinsfield Health and Wellbeing Grant – for organisations looking to develop projects to support the health and wellbeing of residents in Berinsfield.
- We work with Oxfordshire Community and Voluntary Action (OCVA), who support voluntary and community organisations in throughout the county. They offer all kinds of advice, including sources of funding and getting fit to fund.
External funding opportunities
- Empowering Local Food Organisations – Good Food Oxfordshire is administering funding to help local food organisations provide essential support through cooking and healthy eating activities. Up to £3,000 is available per organisation with the scheme closing on 8 December 2025. Please see the Good Food Oxfordshire website for more details.
- Health Inequalities in GRT & Migrant Communities – Oxfordshire County Council’s Public Health team have launched a fund to support community-led projects that improve health and wellbeing, reduce disparities, and build on existing relationships among Gypsy, Roma and Traveller (GRT) and vulnerable migrant communities. Organisations can apply for up to £10,000 per project, with the scheme closing on 15 December 2025. For more information please see the scheme’s online form.
- Community Ownership Fund – Government funding to help communities take ownership of community assets at risk of closure. Detailed funding guidance, eligibility criteria and expression of interest form is via the Government website Further information can be found online via the My Community Website.
- Smokefree Oxon – The Public Health team at Oxfordshire County Council have launched a Smokefree Community Fund in which voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations (e.g, district and parish councils, charities, schools, leisure centres, community groups, etc.) can apply for funding between £150-£1000 to create smoke-free spaces or hold smoke-free events. If you would like to apply for this funding, please email smokefreeoxon@oxfordshire.gov.uk to begin the application process.
