Skate, scoot, ride and celebrate at action-packed Berinsfield launch day

Bikers, scooter riders and skaters alike can try the new pump track and skate park in Berinsfield at the official launch day.

The event takes place on July 12 between 10am and 1pm at the track, which is already gaining plenty of interest in the village and beyond.

Skateboard and scooter company Broken Boards will be on hand at the Skate Park to deliver coaching and demonstrations from competitive skater and scooter rider James Skipwith.

Meanwhile, children’s cycle coaching company Cleal’s Wheels will be at the pump track alongside charity Ox Trail Association.

There will also be competitions with prizes on the day including best trick, best run and best jam for skateboarders and a “no pedal” competition with prizes for the top 3 riders that can do the most amount of laps of the track without pedalling.

The skate park and pump is provided by Berinsfield Parish Council and is funded by UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, supported by South Oxfordshire District Council.

Councillor Robin Bennett, South Oxfordshire District Council member for Berinsfield Ward, said: “I’m proud we have delivered the pump track and skate park for Berinsfield residents.

“I hope as many as possible come out to the launch day to give the facilities a go. Even if you’ve never tried skateboarding or BMX before, there will be experts on hand to help so there’s no excuse!”

The launch is on the same day as Berinsfield Fete which is from 11am to 3pm.

Broken Boards are also delivering extra session before the event at Abbey Woods Academy on 9 July to deliver safety skateboard session to two age groups.
