Reporting unhygienic practices or concerns regarding a food establishment

We are able to investigate concerns or complaints about the following issues:

  • Poor food hygiene or safety practices
  • Poor hand hygiene
  • Dirty food premises
  • Unregistered food businesses
  • Pets, animals or vermin within kitchens, storerooms or preparation rooms

What happens after I make a complaint?

Once we have received your complaint, we will be in contact to advise of our next actions. Depending on the nature of the complaint, these actions could include contacting the business to discuss the issue and provide advice or visiting the premises to investigate further.

Where we find matters of concern during the investigation, we will take suitable actions to improve compliance levels. These actions will be taken in line with our enforcement policy.
