Information on Wallingford

To support a thriving Wallingford, South Oxfordshire District Council is working in partnership with Wallingford Town Council, Wallingford Partnership and Wallingford Business Partnership.

The recently formed Wallingford Partnership Ltd has been created by a group of independent volunteers representing a wide range of interests in the community. They share a passion for Wallingford as a fantastic place to work, live in and to visit. They aim to make Wallingford a more attractive place by:

  • improving the environment in which residents live, work and learn
  • creating better commercial and leisure opportunities for everyone
  • offering a wonderful experience to visitors so that they will want to return again and again and bring their family and friends
  • promoting a safe and healthy environment for residents and visitors and;
  • providing first rate transport services.

Last year they secured £100,000 from the SEEDA small rural towns programme. For more information on the projects being delivered please visit www.wallingford.co.uk

The Wallingford Business Partnership works closely with the Wallingford partnership. It believes that a prosperous local economy is fundamental when planning successful regeneration. Together they work to develop strategies aimed at securing the viability of the town and its businesses, which they strongly believe are mutually dependant. Town councils enjoy many legal powers to take action in their community, on subjects ranging from providing recreational spaces and community halls, through protection of common land, to a general power to act for the benefit of the local community. They are recognised nationally as the level of local government closest to people. To contact Wallingford Town Council tel: 01491 835373 or e-mail: wallingfordtc@btconnect.com
