Berinsfield Neighbourhood Plan

Berinsfield Parish Council is working on creating a neighbourhood plan to influence the way their area grows and develops into the future.

What’s happening now?

The parish council recently ran the statutory pre-submission consultation on the draft plan, which ended on 20 November 2023. The local community and statutory consultees were invited to offer their comments on the draft neighbourhood plan. The parish council are reviewing comments received and making changes to the draft plan before formally submitting it to the district council.

Once the plan has been submitted, the district council will organise a further six-week publicity period, inviting comments from the public and statutory consultees. All documents and comments received are then submitted for independent examination.

Background Information:

Berinsfield Neighbourhood Plan 2016

The Independent Examiner of the Berinsfield Neighbourhood Plan, Mr John Parmiter, recommended in his final report that the Berinsfield Neighbourhood Development Plan does not proceed to referendum. The examiner found that the plan did not meet the basic conditions or the tests for legal compliance. The examiner’s final report is available here.

If you want to get involved, please contact the Parish Council.

The neighbourhood plan will form part of our development plan, which we use to make decisions on planning applications.

Here are the plan documents that we use to help decide planning applications in the area, alongside our district-wide policies in the Local Plan and national guidelines.

More information on the process is available on our Neighbourhood Planning Resources page.
