In a smoke control area, you’re not allowed to have smoke from a fire, furnace or fixed boiler coming from your chimney. It also means you’re not allowed to burn certain types of fuel (please see the link to Defra website for further information).
Government regulations (the Clean Air Act 1993) allow us to declare that a certain area in the South Oxfordshire becomes a smoke control area.
The only smoke control area in South Oxfordshire is at Ladygrove in Didcot.
