Community Safety Partnership
We are part of the Community Safety Partnership (CSP), which is made of representatives from a number of agencies to address crime and protect vulnerable people in our districts.
The CSP’s aims are to reduce crime and the fear of crime, whilst building trust and confidence within our communities. The projects we aim to deliver will help:
- manage demand on services through working together
- improve safeguarding in physical and virtual spaces
- target and manage harm and risk
- improve the local response to serious organised crime and terrorism
You can see the CSP structure, targets and measures of success in the annual CSP Plan, which is informed by the Police Crime Commissioner’s (PCC) Police and Criminal Justice Plan and the Safer Oxfordshire Partnership Intelligence Assessment.
Domestic Homicide Reviews / Domestic Abuse Related Death Review
A Domestic Abuse Related Death Review (DARDR), formerly known as a Domestic Homicide Review (DHR) is commissioned by the Community Safety Partnership in response to the death of a person aged 16 or over that has, or appears to have resulted from domestic abuse.
They are subject to the guidance issued by the Home Office under section 8A of the Domestic Violence, Crime and Victims Act 2004 (as amended by section 19 of the Victims and Prisoners Act 2024)
The purpose of a DARDR is to understand what lessons can be learnt from domestic abuse related deaths and to identify and implement these at local and national level, to inform improvements in practice and better safeguard victims of domestic abuse.
