This strategy sets out how we will play a targeted role in delivering new affordable homes, alongside our wider work with partners. It responds to increasing housing pressures and aims to support residents to access suitable and affordable places to live.
Our Housing Delivery Strategy
Our Housing Delivery Strategy contains four strategic housing priorities which incapsulate our existing activity and future ambitions for our district. These are:
- Providing homes to meet current and future local need
- Delivering housing that is truly affordable
- Valuing and supporting council and community led housing initiatives
- Planning for well-designed net zero carbon housing

Our Housing Delivery Action Plan
Our Housing Delivery Strategy Action Plan for 2026/2027 sets out a clear and focused approach to addressing local housing needs. The plan prioritises the delivery of more affordable housing, strengthens partnerships with housing providers and community led initiatives, and outlines strategic steps to support the decarbonisation of homes across the area. Through this work, we aim to make meaningful progress towards improving access to secure, affordable, and energy-efficient homes for our communities.
