Leaf Clearing new

We have a schedule for clearing leaves from pavements, roads and car parks throughout Autumn and early Winter.

Why cleaning matters

  • Fallen leaves can make pavements slippery, unsafe and untidy, and cause and obstruction for pedestrians, cyclists and mobility aids
  • Make roads and pathways appear untidy.

How you can help

Residents are responsible for clearing and disposing of leaves on their own property and garden. Leaves can be composted along with other garden waste to help improve your soil next growing season. If you have a garden waste permit then they can be added to your brown bin.

Reporting a leaf clearance issue

If you notice a build‑up of leaves that is making an area unsafe or inaccessible, please contact us at waste.team@southandvale.gov.uk . We will assess the location and arrange clearance as soon as possible.
