Didcot Garden Town – Activities

Didcot Nature Trail

Didcot Nature Trail map (PDF)

Located just a short walk the Orchard Centre, Didcot Nature Trail is for everyone to enjoy and explore the local area, become more active and learn more about the diverse natural world around us.

Click here to download the Didcot Nature Trail information leaflet and map.

From 17 December 2024, you can also a pick up a copy of trail leaflet from Cornerstone, Didcot Library and Didcot Community Centre.

Following the Trail

Follow the leaf signs and you will be able to discover an array of animals, birds, bugs, flowers and trees.

Why not make a list of the things that you recognise along the way and share these with your friends – did you see the same things? Try walking the route at a different time of year and see what’s changed.

Along the trail you will also see rubbing plates on some of our marker posts. Look out for the different plates including a blackbird, a fox, a buttercup, an acorn and a bumblebee, to name just a few.

We’ve worked together with Didcot Town Council, local parish councils, community groups and centres to create a ‘On your Doorstep’ map of interesting things. This beautiful map illustrates some of art works, trails and cultural and historical places in and around Didcot Garden Town. You can also pick up a paper copy at Cornerstone in Didcot.

Didcot Wildlife Garden Charter

Caption reads: Didcot Wildlife Garden Charter with a robin on top of the letter 't' and butterflies and bees flying around.

We’ve partnered with Sustainable Didcot to help highlight a Didcot Wildlife Garden Charter to encourage everyone to pledge to help the wildlife thrive in their own garden.

With just a few simple steps you can help create green corridors to help enhance the biodiversity in the local area. You can get involved by visiting Sustainable Didcot’s website
