We have started to prepare a new Joint Local Plan for South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse. This will be our second joint local plan, it will cover the period up to 2045 and we will refer to it as JLP2.

On 19 June 2026 we published our notice of intention to commence Joint Local Plan 2045 preparation and our timetable which sets out the plan-making milestones.

Our Scoping Consultation which ran from Tuesday 8 September until Tuesday 29 September at 11.59pm has now closed.
On 8 September 2026, we published a Notice of Scoping Consultation, providing formal notice of the commencement of the first consultation stage in the preparation of the new Joint Local Plan 2045. The notice also provided information on how people could take part in the consultation.
