Please note we are now conducting council committee meetings online via video conferencing
Councillors will use Microsoft Teams to take part in meetings and you can watch the proceedings online using a link that we will publish on the meeting agenda pages of our website five days prior to the meeting.
You can find the meeting agendas by looking at the Planning Committee meetings page
Each meeting has an agenda which is published five days in advance. Copies of the agenda and reports are available online, on request and at the meeting.

Submitting a statement
While we are getting used to holding virtual meetings we are not inviting members of the public to take part, but you can submit a statement by email in advance. This will be sent to councillors before the meeting.
In order for your contribution to be included you must email it to email@example.com by 12 noon on the working day before the meeting. You will then receive an email confirming the meeting details and a link so you can watch the live proceedings.
The planning committee considers a range of planning applications depending upon the scale, degree of complexity and level of community interest. If there are several applications for one site, the committee may consider these together, but they will vote on each recommendation.
The Head of Planning makes decisions on approximately 90 per cent of applications under delegated powers. The planning committee considers most applications for large developments (such as applications for 200 or more houses or where the site is 2 hectares or more in size). Smaller applications can be considered by the committee if the chairman and vice chairman agree to a local district councillor’s request to call in an application.
A planning committee meeting is held approximately every 3 weeks.
