Health and wellbeing
Looking after our mental health and wellbeing is important. There are a variety of organisations and websites that may be able to offer you the support, advice and help you need – whether in person, over the phone, via text, self-help or in group community settings:
If you or someone else is in danger, call 999 or go to Accident & Emergency now.
If you need help urgently for your mental health, but it’s not an emergency, get help from the NHS 111 online website or call 111. All of these services offer 24/7 support.
- The Every Mind Matters website offers advice and practical steps that people can take to support their wellbeing and manage their mental health
- If you or someone you know is elderly and feeling lonely, Age UK have information and advice on their website
- The Marmalade Trust is a charity dedicated to raising awareness of loneliness and helping people to make new friendships
- The Hub of Hope can also be accessed to find local sources of mental health support and services, both from the NHS and from other organisations
- GamCare is a charity that helps people with a gambling addiction and those affected by someone who has an addiction.

- Mental Health Helpline – Call 111 and ask for the 24/7 mental health helpline if you need urgent mental health support.
- Connection Support is a local charity that provides a flexible and tailored support and advice to adults and families in Oxfordshire. You can contact them on 01865 711267.
- Samaritans – if you’re having a hard time, they can provide you with advice and support. Call them anytime on 116 123.
- Oxfordshire Mind Mental Health Charity. Call their information line on 01865 247788.
- CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) is a charity that supports men under 45 years old with mental health issues. You can call them on 0800 58 58 58.
- GamCare is a charity that helps people with a gambling addiction and those affected by someone who has an addiction. Speak to an adviser for free on 0808 8020 133, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Staying physically active
Staying active is one way you can help improve your mood and mental health.

- Move Together is a scheme in Oxfordshire focused on helping you to move more and feel better if you have been affected by Covid-19
