How we pay your benefit

We will pay your housing benefit in arrears, every four weeks, into your bank account.

Please ensure that your account details are up to date and correct.

If you fall behind with your rent by eight weeks or more, your landlord can ask us to pay your housing benefit directly to them and we may switch payments to them without your permission.

If you have difficulties with managing your money, perhaps due to health problems, you can ask us to pay your landlord directly.
