Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in submissions

We recognise that some customers may choose to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, or similar technologies, to help prepare complaints, applications, letters, representations, or other correspondence.

AI benefits

AI can offer several benefits, including:

  • Improving spelling, grammar, and presentation.
  • Assisting with structuring information and drafting documents.
  • Helping users communicate more clearly and efficiently.
  • Supporting accessibility for individuals who may need assistance with writing.

AI risks

However, there are also risks associated with the use of AI-generated content, everyone should be aware of, including:

  • Inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading information.
  • Content that does not fully reflect the customer’s circumstances, views, or intentions.
  • Outdated information or incorrect references to legislation, policies, or procedures.
  • The inclusion of information that cannot be verified or substantiated.
  • Inadvertently sharing sensitive or personal data (Public AI platforms often save people’s inputs to train future models, meaning private details can be exposed to other users).

What we ask you to do if you use AI

To ensure the integrity of our decision-making processes, if you have used AI to prepare or assist with a submission, we ask that you:

  1. Declare that AI has been used in preparing any part of the document.
  2. Review all content carefully before submission.
  3. Accept full responsibility for the content submitted, including its accuracy, completeness, and relevance.
  4. Ensure that any facts, evidence, supporting information, or statements included are correct and genuinely represent their own circumstances, views, and intentions.

We may ask for clarification or supporting evidence where information appears inaccurate, inconsistent, or unclear. Our decisions will be based on the information provided and any relevant evidence, regardless of whether AI has been used.

I confirm that I have used Artificial Intelligence (AI) to assist in preparing this submission. I understand that I remain fully responsible for the content provided, including its accuracy, completeness, and validity. I have reviewed the submission and confirm that it accurately reflects my own circumstances, views, and intentions.
