The Core Strategy

Latest news on our timetable 1 August 2008

Our revised timetable for producing LDF documents went to Cabinet on Thursday 3 July.  We submitted this to GOSE and are now awaiting their response.  Follow the link on the right to view the proposed timetable.  We will update this website when the new timetable is agreed.

We are preparing a strategy for South Oxfordshire as part of our work on the Local Development Framework to 2026 and we need you to help us make the best decisions.

The main purpose of the strategy is to identify issues and directions of growth for new development up to the year 2026.  The council will make all its major decisions – for example, broad locations of major new housing or employment developments, through the process of preparing this strategy.

Issues and Options Consultation Feedback

Thank you to everyone who provided us with feedback to the Core Strategy. We have now analysed the responses, which are now available to view on our summary page.

You can still view/download our issues and options document from the menu on the right.

Pros and cons for each option

Our Sustainability Appraisal report accompanies the issues and options document.  This explains some of the pros and cons for each option.  This document is available to view or download from the menu on the right.

When preparing the strategy we have to follow the policies and strategy in the South East Plan.

Consultation workshops

In July and August 2007 we held a number of ‘Your Place, Your Future’ workshops  with stakeholders which helped us identify what the key issues are.  You can view the outcomes of these workshops on the Your Place, Your Future page.
