Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That the use of the road through the industrial estate to provide the only vehicular access for the development would result in poor standards of amenity for the occupiers of the proposed dwellings and would be likely to result in conflict between industrial traffic and residents accessing the development, thereby prejudicing the safety and convenience of drivers and pedestrians. Therefore the development would be contrary to the provisions of the Council's adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan, particularly policies H4, H11 and G10.

That the proposed three storey flats and houses would dominate and result in an inappropriate and incongruous form of development which would be out of character with scale of existing domestic development in this part of Watlington and would be detrimental to the character and appearance of the area. In addition the proposed garage and parking areas for plots 1-4 and 11 Hurdlers Green would intrude into the area of land proposed to be used as communal amenity space and would therefore reduce the attractiveness of this area of land. Therefore the development would be contrary to the provisions of the Council's adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan, particularly policies G8, H4 and H11.
