Decision
Refusal of Planning Permission on 8th December 1999
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That the proposed extensions and alterations to the barn would introduce incongruous domestic features to the building and these together with the provision of a new stable block and triple garage would consolidate the domestic character of the site. The proposals would therefore detract from the character, appearance and setting of the existing buildings and would be detrimental to the visual amenity of the locality which lies within the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. In addition, no evidence has been provided to demonstrate that other uses have been explored and been found to be unacceptable in planning terms. Therefore the development would be contrary to the provisions of the Council's adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan, particularly policies G1, C2 and C11.
