Decision
Refusal of Planning Permission on 29th March 1999
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That the proposed change of use would result in the loss of a retail
unit in the primary shopping frontage of Henley-on-Thames. The
loss of such a unit would undermine the vitality and viability, and
the retailing character of the area of primary shopping frontage.
As such, the proposal would be detrimental to the town as a shopping
centre and the character of the Henley-on-Thames Conservation Area.
Therefore, the proposal would be contrary to the Council's
approved South Oxfordshire Local Plan, particularly policies S3 and
CON6.
