The design and form of the conservatory is too ornate, complicated
and does not relate to the form and character of the cottage. The
conservatory is also proposed to be located on the front elevation
of the building which would result in a very visually intrusive
feature when approaching the cottage, and radically change the simple
linear form. The proposals would thereby be seriously detrimental
to the historic form and character of this Grade II Listed Building
and fail to preserve or enhance the Berrick Salome Conservation Area,
contrary to policies CON6 and CON10 in the adopted South Oxfordshire
Local Plan and advice contained in PPG15 - Planning and the historic
environment.
