Decision
Refusal of Conservation Area Consent on 14th October 1999
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That the proposals are contrary to the Conservation policies in the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan (CON7, 8, 9, 10). This farmyard contributes to the setting of the adjacent listed building, Town Farm House, and to the character of the Lewknor Conservation Area such that the development of the site by 15 dwellings will detract from its setting and from the character and appearance of the Lewknor Conservation Area. In addition the proposals would result in the demolition of an attractive early 19th century brick barn which is important in its own terms and which contributes to the setting of the adjoining listed building, Town Farm House, and the character and appearance of the Lewknor Conservation Area.
