Decision
Refusal of Listed Building Consent on 18th August 1999
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
Having regard to the length and height of the proposed extension and to the inappropriate roofing materials proposed, the proposals represent inappropriate development that would result in the loss of the rear view of the existing listed building (4/5 High Street), conceal more of the attractive stone wall of the neighbouring property and represent further development of the burgage plot. The proposals would thereby detract from the setting of the listed building, detract from the character and appearance of the Thame Conservation Area and represent development that would diminish the historic interest and value of the burgage plot, contrary to policies CON7, CON8 and CON14 of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan.
