The proposal to demolish the existing building and erect a new dwelling would involve the loss of a building which is considered to have historic merit and rural character, and result in the erection of a new dwelling which would be out of keeping with the essential rural form of the former farmyard area which lies within the Thame Conservation Area, and a form of development which would detract from the character of the adjoining Grade II Listed Barns. The proposals would thereby be contrary to policies CON7, CON8, CON9 and CON10 in the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan.
