Decision
Refusal of Planning Permission on 26th March 1999
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That the proposal would be contrary to policies G1, G8 and C16 of the
adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan, in that it would result in the
removal of existing trees which are the subject of Tree Preservation
Order No 11 1996. It is considered that these trees have an important
amenity value and that their removal would be highly detrimental to the
character of this part of Thame which is within the Thame Conservation
Area.
That the proposal would be contrary to policy H11 of the adopted South
Oxfordshire Local Plan. Having regard to the restricted width of the
site, the erection of a two storey dwelling would appear cramped and
out of keeping with its surroundings, detracting from the character
of this part of the Thame Conservation Area.
That the proposal would be contrary to policies CON8, CON10 and CON14
of the South Oxfordshire Local Plan. The erection of a new dwelling
at the rear of a well defined historic burgage plot would be
inappropriate, eroding the character of the burgage plot and detracting
from the character of this part of the Thame Conservation Area.
