Decision
Refusal of Planning Permission on 2nd August 2000
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That the development is contrary to the Conservation policies of the Council's adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan, particularly policies CON8 and CON13. Having regard to its prominent location within the Conservation Area and the non traditional materials used in its construction, the side awning represents an intrusive and inappropriate form of development, which fails to either preserve or enhance the character of the area. As such, the proposal would be detrimental to the character and appearance of this part of the Henley-on-Thames Conservation Area. The awning is also contrary to advice contained within the Council's Traditional Shopfront Design Guide.
