Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That, by virtue of its prominent and isolated location in the open
countryside within the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and
its proposed design and materials, the proposal would constitute an
intrusive and inappropriate form of development that would be out of
keeping with and detrimental to the character and appearance of this
part of the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Furthermore,
the circumstances advanced in support of the application do not ammount
to an overriding need for an implement storage building that cannot
satisfactorily be met by existing buildings on the land or nearby. The
proposed building would therefore, be contrary to the provisions of the
Council's adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan, particuarly policies C2,
C8 and G5, and to the advice contained in PPG7 "The Countryside -
Environmental Quality and Economic and Social Develpment".
