Decision
Refusal of Planning Permission on 18th November 1998
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That, having regard to the extent and location of the car park and its surfacing materials, the proposal would be detrimental to the setting of the Rotherfield Peppard Conservation Area. As such, the development would be contrary to the provisions of the Council's adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan, particularly policies G1, CON10, CON15 and TSM6. That, having regard to the location of the car park in relation to neighbouring properties' gardens, the proposal would be detrimental to the amenity of neighbouring residents on account of the noise and disturbance which would result. As such, the development would be contrary to the provisions of the Council's adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan, particularly policies G7 and TSM6. That, having regard to its siting in close proximity to the south-west boundary and the location of the rooflight in the south-west elevation, the proposal would lead to a loss of privacy to the neighbouring property's rear garden. As such, the development would be contrary to the provisions of the Council's adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan, particularly policy TSM6.
