That the removal of a section of the boundary wall and its replacement with
timber gates would be detrimental to the enclosed character of the existing
garden area and would detract from the character and appearance of the wall
and the setting of the adjacent listed buildings. In addition, it would
neither preserve or enhance the character and appearance of the Watlington
Conservation Area. Therefore, the proposed demolition works would be
contrary to the provisions of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan,
particularly policies CON1, CON7, CON8, CON9, CON10 and CON15.
