Decision
Refusal of Planning Permission on 10th June 1998
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That, particularly having regard to the separate nature of the health
and fitness facility, to the excessive size and details of design of the
extensions and to the siting of the overspill car park, the proposal
would constitute an inappropriate and intrusive form of development which
would have an adverse effect on the character and appearance of the
landscape which lies within an Area of Great Landscape Value. Therefore,
the development would be contrary to the provisions of the Council's
adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan, particularly policies G8, C3 and
R5. The justifications submitted in support of the proposal do not
warrant any departure from the planning policies of the Local Planning
Authority.
