That the proposals are contrary to policies G13 and G1 of the adopted
South Oxfordshire Local Plan. Having regard to the excessive height
of the proposed sign, to its inappropriate illuminated form and
prominent location on the frontage of the site, and having regard
to the fact that illuminated and non illuminated signage has already
been granted to advertise this business on this site (application
ref P98/N0656/A), the proposals represent an excessive and intrusive
form of development, which would extend the spread of signage at the
site over a considerable area and inappropriately heighten the commercial
profile of the site to the detriment of the rural character and
appearance of the site.
