Decision
Refusal of Planning Permission on 4th September 1998
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
The proposals would be contrary to policy H12 of the South Oxfordshire Local Plan. Having regard to the bulk and height of the proposed extension, and to the location of both the extension and garage on the boundary with number 4 Back Way and Wallnut Cottage, Back Way, the proposals represent an unneighbourly form of development which would be intrusive and overbearing and thereby detract from the residential amenities currently enjoyed by the occupants of adjoining properties. The proposals would be contrary to policies H12 and Con 10 of the South Oxfordshire Local Plan. The proposed extension would be incongruous because of its design and external appearance, and would result in a form of development which would detract from the character of the existing cottage. The materials proposed for the external walls of the garage are inappropriate in this sensitive location. In these circumstances, the proposals would detract from the character and appearance of the Great Haseley Conservation Area.
