Decision
Refusal of Planning Permission on 19th August 1998
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
Having regard to the siting and orientation of the adjoining property, No. 5 Roman Road and to the excessive size, height and bulk of the proposed extension, the proposals represent an unneighbourly, overbearing and intrusive form of development, also resulting in a loss of light, which would significantly detract from the residential amenity currently enjoyed by the occupants of the adjoining property, a Grade II Listed Building. In dismissing an appeal for the erection of a bungalow on this land, the Inspector considered that the erection of a bungalow would have an adverse effect on the adjoining property, No. 5 Roman Road; it is considered that the current proposal would have a significantly greater adverse effect on the amenity of the adjoining property than the scheme dismissed on appeal.
Appeal
No appeal lodged.
