Decision
Refusal of Planning Permission on 20th May 1998
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That the development is contrary to Green Belt Policy GB3 of the South Oxfordshire Local Plan in that it would conflict with the purposes of including the land within the Oxford Green Belt and fail to maintain the openness of the Green Belt. That the development is contrary to the general, countryside and employment policies in the South Oxfordshire Local Plan in that it would have an adverse effect on the local environment (Policy G1), would progressively detract from the visual and rural amenities of this Area of Great Landscape Value (Policy C3) and conflict with the policies aimed at protecting the Green Belt and cause environmental and other problems (Policy E6) and there is insufficient justification to warrant a departure from the planning policies of the Local Planning Authority. That Sandy Lane is a classified bridleway and an intensification of the use of this un-made track with its sub-standard junction with Gidley Way would be contrary to Policy G10 of the South Oxfordshire Local Plan in that it does not provide a safe and convenient access to the local highway network which is inadequate.
