Decision
Refusal of Planning Permission on 13th May 1998
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That, having regard to its height, form and prominent siting within the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, particularly when viewed from the south-west and east, the proposed 25 metre high lattice work tower with associated antennae and microwave dishes would constitute an intrusive and incongruous form of development which would be detrimental to the special landscape character and appearance of this part of the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Therefore, the development would be contrary to the provisions of the Council's adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan, particularly policies G1, G15, C1 and C2. The applicants' justification for the proposed tower in this location does not warrant any departure from the planning policies of the Local Planning Authority.
