Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That the proposal would conflict with polcies of the adopted South
Oxfordshire Local Plan which allows for development within the built-up
area of Wallingford (Policy H4) but not for new houses in the countryside
or on the edge of settlements which would extend their built-up area into
the countryside (Polices G5 and H6). Development which would damage the
attractive landscape setting of the settlements of the District will not
be permitted (Policy C6). The erection of a substantial house and garage
would constitute an extension of development beyond the built-up limit
of Winterbrook/Wallingford into the countryside and an intrusive form
of development which would be detrimental to the attractive rural
setting of the town.
