Planning permission for this residential unit was granted, despite its location in open countryside in the Oxford Green Belt, in 1995 (ref. P95/W0436) because the buildings are substantial and attractive and the conversion was capable of being undertaken without compromising their agricultural character. The erection of an extension of residential style would detract from the character, appearance and setting of the existing buildings, contrary to Policies C11 and H12 of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan.
