Decision
Refusal of Outline Planning Permission on 6th August 1997
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That the development would be contrary to the provisions of the adopted
South Oxfordshire Local Plan which generally seeks to resist
development which would extend the built-up area of settlements into
the countryside (policies G5 and H6) and to conserve and enhance the
natural beauty of the Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (policy C2).
In this case the development would further extend an existing ribbon
of development into open countryside within the Chilterns Area of
Outstanding Natural Beauty to the detriment of the character and
landscape of the area.
That the development would prejudice the retention of a horse chestnut
tree, the loss of which would detract from the local scene, contrary to
policy C16 of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan.
