Decision
Refusal of Planning Permission on 24th August 1998
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That, having particular regard to its size, scale and design, the proposed building would be out of keeping with, and detrimental to, the character and appearance of the area which lies within the Henley-on-Thames Conservation Area. As such, it would be contrary to the provisions of the Council's adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan, particularly policies G1, G8, CON8, CON10, CON15 and E6. That the proposal fails to make adequate provision for the parking of vehicles within the site and would therefore be likely to exacerbate existing parking difficulties in the area and, having regard to the limited width of Tuns Lane, would result in danger and inconvenience to vehicular and pedestrain traffic using Tuns Lane. As such the proposal is contrary to the provisions of the Council's adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan, particularly policy G11.
