Decision
Refusal of Planning Permission on 5th March 1997
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That the proposed change of use would result in the loss of a retail unit in the primary shopping frontage of Henley-on-Thames. The loss of such a unit would undermine the vitality and viability, and the retailing character, of this area of primary shopping frontage. As such, the proposal would be detrimental to the town as a shopping centre and to the character of the Henley-on-Thames Conservation Area. Therefore, the proposal would be contrary to the Council's approved South Oxfordshire Local Plan (as proposed to be modified), particularly policy S3.
