Decision
Refusal of Listed Building Consent on 19th November 1997
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
The proposed two storey extension by reason of its bulk, size and
unsympathetic design is considered to represent an inappropriate and
incongruous form of extension detracting from the character,
appearance and detailing of the existing dwelling. The undue
prominence of the rear wing would adversely affect the scale, form and
character of this attractive, modest sized Grade II Listed Building.
The proposal would detrimentally affect the visual amenities of
the locality and the character of the Conservation Area thereby being
contrary to CON10, G1 and H12 of the adopted South Oxfordshire
Local Plan.
