Decision
Refusal of Planning Permission on 15th July 1998
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That the proposal would be contrary to policies CON 7 and CON 8 of the
South Oxfordshire Local Plan. The proposal would result in the loss
of an important open space in the Thame Conservation Area and detract
from the spacious setting of numbers 27 and 28 High Street, both
Grade II listed buildings.
That the proposal would be contrary to policies G8 and CON 10 of the
South Oxfordshire Local Plan. The proposal would result in alterations
to the existing frontage wall which is an important part of the
street scene and should be retained in its existing form. Furthermore
the proposed alterations to the wall, which would bring it closer
to protected trees, would by virtue of root damage, severely endanger
the future health of these important trees.
