Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That having regard to its height, illumination and prominent location
and in view of the existing illuminated sign already located on this
site, the proposed sign would result in an unduly obtrusive feature
which would detract from the character of the surrounding countryside
and create undesirable advertisement clutter on the site contrary to
Policy G13 of the South Oxfordshire Local Plan. A similar sign was
dismissed on appeal in 1996 and the same arguments are considered to
apply to this proposal.
