Decision
Refusal of Planning Permission on 9th October 1996
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That having regard to its inappropriate design and in particular the lack of a stall riser and vertical glazing bars, the proposed shop front represents an inappropriate change to the front of this building which is detrimental to the visual amenity of the street scene within the principal shopping area of Didcot. As such the proposal would conflict with policies B1 of the adopted Didcot Local Plan and G1 of the approved South Oxfordshire Local Plan which seek to protect settlements from adverse development and wherever possible to enhance the environment and fails to accord with the design principles set out in the Council's Planning Guidance Note 6, Traditional Shop Front Design Guide.
