Decision
Refusal of Consent to Display an Advertisement on 16th December 1996
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That, having regard to the number of illuminated signs being displayed on the building and at the site, which occupies a prominent location in a generally open, rural landscape within the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the continued display of such signs is detrimental to the visual amenity, rural character and landscape quality of the area. As such, the proposal would be contrary to the Council's approved Rural Areas Local Plan (particularly policies G1, CON17, C1 and C7) and adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan (particularly policies G1, G13, C1 and C2).
