Description
Extensions and alterations to Nursing Home, including provision of childrens day nursery and day centre for the elderly (as amended by drawing no. 217 AP/4 accompanying agents letter dated 12 December 1996 and by drawing no. 217 OS/2B received 24 December 1996).
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That, having regard to the relationship of the extensions to the
existing building, to the size, height, extent and massing of the
extensions, and to the extent of the car park, the proposal would
constitute a substantial extension to an existing residential nursing
home which lies beyond the built-up area of Sonning Common and would
be an unduly intrusive form of development which would be detrimental
to the character and visual amenity of the locality. Therefore, the
development would be contrary to the provisions of the Council's
adopted Rural Areas Local Plan, particularly policies G3, G5 and H5,
and approved South Oxfordshire Local Plan (as proposed to be modified),
particularly policies G5, G8, H6 and CF1.
